Ben Stiller is a goof who ends up at the butt of every joke in “Meet the Parents”, a PG 13 rated comedy released on the millennium. If you enjoy watching him make a fool of himself countless times (okay, 37 times), then Meet the Parents will be your idea of a good time.

This is pretty much their interaction throughout the movie.
If you are looking for some easy laughs, “Meet the Parents” is for you. Ever had a relationship with someone with crazy parents? Meet the Parents will make you realize that you had it easy. Greg Focker (Ben Stiller) is a man with an unfortunate name who still hasn’t met his girlfriend, Pam Byrnes’ (Teri Polo) parents.
When Greg finally meets her parents, things get crazy quick as he desperately tries to win the approval of her father (Robert De Niro) while everything that possible could go wrong, does. De Niro is not the type of guy you mess with, and he uses his cold eyes to intimidate the hapless Greg repeatedly. Hes is great as the suspicious, competent father who has some secrets of his own.
This is a comedy that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It does exactly what it is supposed to- make you laugh without making you think too hard. It’s got some slapstick humor, ridiculous situations, and most importantly, lots of laughs. Don’t go into this movie expecting a Grammy winning heart wrenching romance and you won’t be disappointed by the low brow humour, occasionally too-predictable scenarios and larger than life characters.
