Caddyshack

caddyshack-r-rated-sports-comedy-1980Caddyshack is one of the greatest comedies in existence, and not just owing to an awesome performance by Bill Murray. I love this movie. It’s the story of a caddy, Danny (Michael O’Keefe) who is trying to make enough money to save up for college. He caddies for Ty Bushwood (Chevy Chase), who is full of knowledge and advice. The best part of this movie is the subplots- you have Bill Murray as the groundskeeper who is devoted to killing the gopher which has been plaguing the course. And when I say devoted, I mean this crazy cat will do anything and everything in his power to destroy that damned creature once and for all. Bill Murray plays the crazed, out of reality groundskeeper perfectly, and he’s probably the funniest part of the movie, bringing it from a great comedy to one of the comedies on my list of top comedies.
